Kustom By Kris Wedding Invitation Timeline
Here is a good "rule of thumb" timeline for ordering and maintaining your wedding invitations. Hopefully this will help you stay on track and avoid any unnecessary problems!

Order the Invitations

Please, please, please order your invitations through a professional designer and order them as early as possible! Talk to the designer prior to ordering - even if the invitations are pre-designed like many Kustom By Kris invitations. You should be completely happy with your invitation choice and know that if any problems arise you will have someone there to assist you. You can also order many of my invitations in a quanitity of 1, which will let you see the invitation and request any alterations before placing the big order.

Receive Invitations

Take an envelope loaded with your invitation to the post office to be weighed.

Purchase Postage

If you are planning on using specialty, vintage, or photo postage, do your homework! You may have to add extra time to your timeline to wait for the postage to be delivered if you have to order it. Also, go with a professional designer for your photo postage. Many people don't realize that a designer will be able to help you choose the perfect photos and she can tell you if the postage will be too big, or if elements in the photo will be too small.

Hand-Address Envelopes or Take to a Calligrapher

In today's modern society you can also print the addresses on the envelopes yourself with your digital printer. Be sure to have extra envelopes on hand to cover mistakes. Another option is to order custom-designed envelopes. Kustom By Kris can design envelopes in various sizes that can include any elements you desire.

Response Cards

Mark each response card with your guests' names to avoid them forgetting to do it! Or you can write their names on the cards with an invisible pen. Then if anyone forgets to write their names, you can use a black light to see who the card was from.

Assemble Invites

Mail

Collect RSVPs

Call guests who have not responded

TIP:

Avoid doing your invitations yourself. You can find amazing designers out there who can provide pre-designed templates or create custom invitations for you like Kustom By Kris at affordable prices.
